Giving Back to the Sarasota Community
SCS believes it is important to model and teach our students to serve others, both locally and globally, as Jesus taught us. Each year the entire high school student body demonstrates this throughout the Sarasota community by volunteering at local non-profit organizations. SCS seniors research local organizations that provide helpful services to Sarasota residents, plan an on-site service at each agency, and teach out about their giving experience.
Students have washed planes that sent supplies to missionaries in Haiti and Dominican Republic (see cover photo), sorted and prepared holiday food for community members, painted, cleaned stables, sorted 1900 Toys for Tots requests, and sang to nursing home residents.
Below are some of the non-profit agencies at which our students recently volunteered.
