Choral Mission

The mission of our choral department is to glorify God and develop the musical gifts that God had given us. We do this by increasing our understanding of musical notation and by nuturing self confidence as singers. It i s our hope our vocal students will used by God in the music programs of our churches and and community, long after they leave. Sarasota Christian.

SCS TOURING CHOIR 2007-08

After receiving all A's and all Superiors at District MPA's, the SCS Touring Choir received a Superior rating for the second time under the direction of Chris Ayala. Ms. Ayala is very proud of her choir! "They have worked very hard to be the best they could be. Remember, it is the quality, not the quantity that counts" she said as she congratulated them.

For the first time in SCS history, the Touring Choir received all A's and all Superiors at District MPA'S. This qualifies them to go to State MPA'S at Daytona Community College, Thursday, April 23, 2008. May God bless you with safe travels and His presence as you perform your best for Him. The Touring Choir motto is: "We sing for an audience of one."

Finally, this letter was written by the SCS Parents of Touring Choir.

"Thank you very much for your support of the Sarasota Christian mission and outreach program, in regards to the recent MSEC trip to Hartville, Ohio. You indeed have a lot to be proud of in the way the Sarasota Christian choir students represented our school and performed at this exciting event. Even though it was a very rigorous schedule, your students went the extra mile to honor and glorify God with their gifts and energy for Sarasota Christian School. MSEC has been a valuable tradition of SCS for many years and continues to be an extraordinary experience as well as the hundreds of people who get to enjoy God's blessing through these students.

These students work very hard to be the best they can be for the MSEC program as well as striving for excellence in their academic studies. In fact, the National Honor Society induction had to be moved because a large number of inductees and current members were attending MSEC. The point is, these students are not only gifted in voice, but some of the smartest and brightest students at SCS. We are very blessed to have this wonderful opportunity at SCS and want to recognize and thank you for all of your support, prayers and encouragement with this wonderful mission of the SCS Touring Choir. "
