ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
We welcome students of any race, color, national and
ethnic origin, and do not discriminate on this basis
in admission or in any area of the school
life and program. The following criteria are considered in admission decisions:
1.Written application forms must be completed.
2.Records including report cards and standardized tests must be supplied.
3. Parents and applicants must be willing to be interviewed by the appropriate
principal or designated committee.
4.Applicants must meet the following requirements:
A. Kindergarten - five years of age on or before
September lst (as required by the State of Florida).
B. First grade - six years of age on or before
September lst (as required by the State of Florida). Students reaching
age six on or before December 3lst may be admitted providing the student
is determined to be emotionally, socially and academically prepared for first
grade. This determination is made after a conference with student, parents,
and appropriate staff, upon recommendation from the kindergarten teacher, and
satisfactory scores on the developmental and ability tests.
5.Tests will be administered to students:
A. To ensure placement in the grade and courses
for which a student is qualified.
B. To facilitate the maintenance of outstanding
school standards.
C. To ensure that students with learning disabilities
and handicaps which go beyond the school's scope of management will be directed
to a more suitable environment.
6.Priority consideration will be given to:
A. Families who desire Christian teaching including
high moral standards, high behavioral standards and high academic standards.
B. Families who already have students enrolled
at SCS.
C. Families who enroll all their school age children
at SCS.
D. Students who desire a Christian education.
7.Students at SCS are accepted:
A. By a final decision of the admissions committee.
B. On a nine-week probationary basis.
C. On a yearly basis and subject to annual review.
D. Regardless of race. color, gender, national
or ethic origin.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
When applications are approved, parents are notified of suitable times to
register.
This will require:
1. Completion of registration, covenant statements, and financial agreement forms.
2. Payment of school fees.
3. Submission of physical examination form (#3040) and immunization records (HRS
#680). These forms are available from a local doctor and are required
by the state of Florida.
4. A copy of student's birth certificate.
5. A copy of student's social security card.
6. School release form from previously attended school. |
