This team of dedicated sophomores and juniors made its sixth appearance at World Finals, having placed as high as 2nd in years past. This year, after placing 1st at Regional Competition, placing 1st at State Competition, and winning a Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award, the team took home the 1st place trophy at World Finals, earning the title World Champions. Over 25 countries and 820 teams competed at World Finals at the end of May at Iowa State University. Sarasota Christian School has enjoyed a successful past with Odyssey of the Mind over its 11 year involvement with the program, sending 28 teams to State Competition and 17 teams to World Finals. The school has also graduated a team that placed consistently in the top 8 at World Finals in its last four World Final appearances.
SCS sophomore Tony Colton was awarded the Community Hero Award from the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was presented with a $50,000 check at the game to donate to any charity he wanted. He chose three charities; the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, All Children's Hospital, and Sarasota Christian School. Tony you are a true hero and we are so incredibly proud of you! SCS is one of only six VPK programs in Sarasota to have earned 5-stars out of over 90+ early childcare providers. Our program was also recently recognized for receiving a kindergarten readiness score of 98 signifying our students' readiness to enter kindergarten!

The PTA is hosting a night at the water park for SCS families to swim and fellowship together. Friday, September 9th from 5:30-7:30p.m. Cost: $5 per child, adults free, max of $15 per family.
