Athletic Program Ranked #1 in State


We are excited to announce that Sarasota Christian School's Athletic Program has won the 2013-14 Class 2A FHSAA Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup, ranking #1 in the State out of over 100 competing schools for the honor.  details

Odyssey Team Ranks 4th in World

SCS's 11th Grade Odyssey of the Mind Team ranks 4th at the World Competition!  This was the team's 7th appearance at Worlds.  In each of the past three Odyssey seasons, the team has consistently ranked first in the State of Florida, won the coveted Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award, and placed as one of the top 4 teams in the world. 

6 Students Receive ACE Scholarship

Six 8th graders were recently selected to receive a $500 Accelerated College Education (ACE) Program scholarship for the 2014-15 school year.

Sarasota Christian School's ACE Program provides higher-level academic opportunities in honors, advanced placement and college courses for 9th-12th grade students.  The ACE Program is similar to IB-type programs offered at other schools, however students must maintain a full grade point average higher than other programs (3.75 GPA versus 2.75), demonstrate Christ-like character and show evidence of leadership qualities and service.

2 Students Receive Playwright Award Out of 3000 Entries

Of the more than 3,000 plays submitted from across the globe to the Florida Studio Theatre Young Playwrights Festival, 33 were chosen as winners.  We are pleased to announce that two SCS 5th graders, Luke Downes and Joshua Fitzgerald, were among this select group! Luke's play was titled "One Stuck Rock" and Joshua's play was "A Flash in Time".  These 33 playwrights will have their plays performed by professional actors, and be seen by more than 12,000 students.

SCS Hosts Festival for 200 Choir Students

On April 13th, seven high school choirs totaling 200 students, spanning five states from Oregon to Pennsylvania, performed together under the director of guest conductor Dr. Todd W. Guy.  more pictures

Anyone who is interested in being part of an Odyssey of the Mind team or learning more about the program is invited to this informational meeting Monday, August 25 at 6:30pm in the auditorium.

Labor Day - School Closed - 9/1

The school will be closed Monday, September 1st in observance of Labor Day.

Family Swim Night - 9/5

The PTA is hosting a night at the water park for SCS families to swim and fellowship together.  Friday, September 5th from 6-8p.m.  Cost: $6 per child, adults free, max of $20 per family, concessions available.

Fishing Tournament - 10/10
